Fort Worth is Annual Meeting Host City

The Billie Renfroe Chapter proudly invites all members to this year’s Annual National Meeting in our neck of the woods and enjoy some Cowtown hospitality.

THIS YEAR’S ANNUAL MEETING will be held at the Dallas/Fort Worth Marriott Hotel & Golf Club at Champions Circle near Texas Motor Speedway from 20-24 August.  The theme this year is Cowtown Round-up.  We have a great experience in-store for you this year, starting on Wednesday, with the small batch tour.  One of the scheduled stops is of course to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Thursday, we will host the CMSgt Howard Redd Memorial Golf Tournament right at the same property as the Annual Meeting.  Thursday night will be our traditional Meet-and-Great.  Friday, we will kick off the Annual Meeting followed by a tour of Lockhead Martin (F-35) or The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (TBD).  Saturday, we’ll complete our Annual Meeting followed by our banquet that evening.  Sunday will be our morning prayer and remembrance.  That would conclude this year’s events.

The Air Force once again finds itself at a critical juncture—an era of Great Power Competition (GPC) marked by a new security environment, a rapidly evolving character of war, and a formidable competitor. This new era requires understanding its challenges and the attributes needed to succeed. Embracing change is not a choice; it is a necessity. The Air Force is reoptimizing for high-end conflicts and long-term strategic competition.

This task is not new for the Security Forces career field – to be fully supporting our Air Force and Space Force operations of today, while also looking ahead at how we organize, train, and equip for the future. The Air Force focus on GPC coincides with several Defender modernization efforts that have been years in the making. We cannot rest only on these efforts coming online today; we must also look ahead at what we must set into motion for future needs. Looking ahead, the Air Force Security Forces Directorate is currently working on how we deploy, including deployment models and training; we are evaluating what weapons we deploy and the full fielding of the joint light tactical vehicle; we are investing in training to ensure that Defenders are capable and ready; and we are adapting for counter small unmanned aerial systems (C-sUAS).

Ever wondered what an AFSFA National Meeting is about and what it includes? Well, this year’s meeting in Fort Worth would be a great meeting to start with! The 39th annual AFSFA National Meeting is shaping up to be one to remember. Now let’s see if we can entice you to join us this August with this general outline.

The room rates are guaranteed up until 30 July 2025; after that, they may not be available. The discounted meeting rate is $165 for up to two guests, and includes a complimentary hot breakfast, free parking, free Wi-Fi, and a complimentary shuttle that is available for destinations within a five-mile radius of the hotel.

The 39th AFSFA National Meeting registration documents will be available on the AFSFA website starting 1 April 2025 and will also be located on the last seven pages in the April-June and July-September issues of the Security Forces Magazine. The option for online registration will be available through a link that goes public on 1 April.
